Doris Kate Lemmon

Graveside services for Doris Kate Lemmon, 82 of Beaumont, will be held Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery of Beaumont. Rev. Elvis Davis will officiate. A gathering of friends and family will be held on Tuesday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lemmon was born September 27, 1925 in Little Rock, AR to Pearl and Robert Scott, Sr. and passed away October 28, 2007 in Kountze, TX.
She was a resident of Beaumont for over 60 years. In addition to loving her family and grandkids, she was very active and enjoyed playing bingo with her husband and friends, pier fishing, buying and selling antiques, bowling, and playing the piano at the Food Nutrition Center. She was a long-time member of Wesley United Methodist Church and was active in her Sunday school class.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughter, Donna Sherrick of Lumberton; son, Stan Lemmon and wife Nancy of League City; grandchildren, Aaron Sherrick, Dawn Cantin, Ryan L. Lemmon, Scott Lemmon and Kathi Mezger; eight great-grandchildren; brother Robert Scott, Jr. and wife Sarah of Beaumont and sister, Ava Nell Porter and husband Mahlon of Beaumont.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Howard Lemmon, and son-in-law, Jay Sherrick.
