Born in Shelby County, Texas, on March 16, 1933, she was the daughter of DeLeon Scott and Virginia Forbis Scott. Dorothy was a dedicated member of the McDonald Baptist Church, where she found community and fellowship throughout her life. Professionally, Dorothy made significant contributions during her years in accounting, beginning working in the payroll department for Levingston Shipbuilding and then later for Cloeren Co., showcasing her diligence and expertise in her field. In her leisure time, Dorothy enjoyed engaging in various hobbies that brought her joy and satisfaction. A talented bridge player, she reveled in the strategy and camaraderie that the game offered. She also had a passion for crossword puzzles, often seen with a pen in hand, solving clues that challenged her mind. She loved her many weekends spent at “the Camp” on Toledo Bend Lake playing Forty-Two. Her love for travel allowed her to explore new places and create lasting memories, while her enjoyment of classic movies provided her with a delightful escape into stories and characters from bygone eras. Dorothy was affectionately called “DeDe” by her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy. Her greatest pleasure in life was her family. Dorothy's legacy is one of kindness and enthusiasm for life. She will be remembered for her lively spirit, her warmth towards family and friends, and her ability to bring people together through her many passions. Her family and friends will forever hold her close in their hearts, cherishing the moments shared and the lessons learned from a truly remarkable woman.
