Dorothy James (Dotty) Norris, 93, of Louisville, CO (formerly of Beaumont), passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2015. She was born on December 10, 1921, in Alvin, TX, to Bernice Dehoney James and Clyde Noble James, and was a long-time resident of Beaumont prior to moving to Colorado to be near her family.
Dotty was a graduate of Mary Hardin Baylor College with degrees in Chemistry and Biology, and worked as a chemist for Pure Oil in Beaumont. She was married in 1944 to William E. Norris of Montgomery, AL. Dotty was an avid golfer, a longtime member of the Beaumont Country Club and served many years on the Board of Directors of the Texas Senior Women’s Golf Association.
Dotty was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, and traveling whenever possible.
Dotty is predeceased by her husband, Bill, her parents, two sisters, Virginia James Moeser and Marion James Nabers and brother, Clyde Noble James, Jr , and is survived by her son Charles W. Norris and daughter Lynda Norris Johnson, 5 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 26, from 5 to 7 PM, and the funeral will be held at the funeral home at 10 AM on Wednesday, May 27, followed by a graveside service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
