Dorothy Anderson Proctor, 89, of Bevil Oaks passed away February 2, 2015 at Park Manor Nursing Home in Conroe.
She was born August 2, 1925 in Woodville, Texas to Thomas B. Anderson and Katheryn B. Tippen. A retiree of Bethlehem Steel, Dorothy was a wonderful wife, mother, and a terrific cook. She often loved to plastic canvas crochet and her collection of bells from all over the world was unmatched. Granny Dot was active at First Baptist Church of Bevil Oaks and sang in the choir for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Edgar L. Proctor. Surviving her are her sons, Ronald E. Proctor and wife Anita of Montgomery, TX, Terry L. Proctor of Conroe, TX; grandchildren Celeste M. Gray and husband, David of Tomball, TX, Kelly E. Proctor of Dallas, TX, Ashley P. Vandagriff of Houston, TX, Ronald E. Proctor, Jr. and wife Melissa of Conroe, TX; great-grandchildren Trevor A Vandagriff , Madeline R. Proctor, Aaron N. Proctor, Alana Gray, Behren Gray, and Gage Gray, sisters, Mildred Aucoin of Lake Jackson, Rose Chambers of Vidor, and Katheryn Fontenot of Vidor, and brother Glen Anderson of Colmesneil.
Visitation will be Friday, February 6, 2015 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 7, 10. a.m. at Claybar Funeral Home in Beaumont. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
