Douglas Wayne Egan, 81, of Florien, Louisiana, formerly of Orange, Texas, passed away on October 2, 2016, in Beaumont, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Pastor Derick Addison and Pastor Jimmy Clark. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born April 12, 1935, in Shelby County, Texas Douglas was the son of Harry and Eva (Furlough) Egan. Doug was a veteran of the United States Army. He was the business agent for Millwright Local 2484 in Orange for over 20 years. When retirement came, he built their forever home on Toledo Bend Lake. He was a member of Christian Baptist Church in Florien, Louisiana. He loved being outside, working in his garden, taking his boat for a ride, fishing, football, and spending time with his family. Paw-Paw, you will be missed greatly by all of us.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Paul Egan and Don Egan.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Jeanette; daughters, Frankie Fare and husband Burt, Wendy Riley and husband Raylan, and Stormy Egan; grandchildren, Sean Riley and wife Sarah, Jessica Montgomery and husband D.J., D.J. Broussard, Wayne Garcia, Chase Abrego, LeAnn Garcia, Kayley Gamblin and husband Seth, and Sarah Fare; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, LaTance Burch and Johnnie Jones and husband Johnny Allen; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family.
Serving as pallbearers will be D.J. Montgomery, D.J. Broussard, Wayne Garcia, Chase Abrego, Sean Riley, and Seth Gamblin. Honorary pallbearers are Rusty Egan, Leonard Egan, Rick Hamilton, Bobby Burch, Johnnny Broussard, and Sammy Parrish.
