Dr. Gene Norman Barry, 81, of Nome, Texas, passed away on March 30, 2025.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., April 12, 2025 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 7785 Weaver Dr. in Beaumont, TX. He will be interred at Haven of Rest Cemetery in China, TX.
He was born in Pocatello, Idaho, the first son of Norman and Sarah Barry. He was sealed to his eternal companion, Margie (Wagley), in the Salt Lake City Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After dental school, they settled in the Beaumont where they raised their family of ten children.
He first became an endodontist, but after a decade decided to pursue his first career desire and became a physician. He practiced as an OB/GYN and then a pain management specialist in Beaumont and Houston.
He was known for his generosity, humor, and genius. He loved participating in the local Harley Club and tinkering. He loved all children, especially his own, and always felt birth was a miracle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one son, Dr. Larry Barry.
He is survived by a sister, brother, nine children, 15 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
