Sheila was my friend. In our doctoral program and at Lamar, we were each other’s support system. We studied, shopped, and ate our way through TWU. One day, when shopping at the Baytown mall, someone asked if we’re sisters. Very funny since we’re not of the same ethnic heritage. We supported each other as our children became adults. Our husbands became friends. I love her and her family. I celebrate all that she brought to life, including her cutting edge research and wonderful food.
