Dwayne Budd Godkin, Sr. of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at the age of 83.
Buddy was born to the parents of Zora and Freddie Godkin on September 14, 1934 in Beaumont, Texas. He graduated from Beaumont High (The Royal Purples). He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War on the USS Pine Island.
Buddy was an avid hunter and fisherman. From Idaho, Utah, to Texas, he enjoyed this activity so much. From 1960 to the present he was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. You could often find him sitting at his chair in the kitchen doodling amazing caricatures.
He also loved to dance. At one time he belonged to The Wagon Wheel Square Dance Club and The Sundance Cloggers and even taught ballroom dancing. He and his wife enjoyed many nights out on the dance floor at McKinzie’s.
Most of all he was a great husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Jo Ann Godkin of 33 years, 2 sons and 2 daughters (Budd Godkin, Clarke Godkin, Dianne Godkin, and Darla Duhon) 1 stepdaughter and 3 stepsons (Debra Smith, Jay Webb, Robert Webb and Brian Webb) and 11 grandkids.
There will be a gathering of family and friends at the home of Clarke and Keesha Godkin at 4:00p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 714 CR 722, Buna, Texas.
