Edgar Willis McGuire, 93, of Orange, passed away on June 3, 2021, in Orange.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 7, 2021, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Jon Brinlee. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 7, 2021, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Born in Orange, Texas, on September 22, 1927, he was the son of Willis McGuire and Cora (Byler) McGuire. Edgar served his Lord faithfully at Winfree Baptist Church. He bravely served his country in the United States Navy. Edgar retired from Allied Chemical after 30 years of hard work and dedication. He was a member of the Bridge City Masonic Lodge #1345 for 53 years. Edgar enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening and always kept himself busy. He will be deeply missed by all those who came to know and love him during his journey through life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Cora McGuire; wife, Lillie McGuire; daughter, Charlotte Fitts; sister, Ophelia Ford; brother, Elvis McGuire; and son-in-law, Jerry Irvine.
He is survived by his children, Kenneth McGuire and wife Sandy, David McGuire and Linda Bowlin, Barbara Irvine, and James McGuire and wife Connie; 8 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Irvine, Ken Comeaux, Kenneth Christian, Steven McGuire, J.J. Sluss and David McGuire, Jr.
