Edna Mae Peet Head, 92, of Orange passed away, Sunday, February 9, 2008 in Orange.
Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Bill Collett of West Orange Church of Christ and Reverend Keith Royal of Winfree Baptist in Orange. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Orange.
Visitation will be on Monday, February 11, 2008 form 6:00-9:00 pm at the funeral home.
Edna was born in Nome, Texas on December 23, 1915 to David P. and Mattie Stanfield Peet. She worked as a floral designer for Fuller Funeral Home and Heaven Sent for 40 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Vertice Head, Sister, Effie Parish, brothers, Buster Peet, Gene Nance and mother, Mattie Meadows.
Edna is survived by her daughters, Jeleta Miles and husband George, Verlene Hammett and husband Jerry and son, Vertice Lynn Head and wife Tiny all of Orange. Also surviving her are ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry L. Hammett, David Barnes, Lyndon Armstrong, Darren Tice and Jalon Barnes. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald, Jack, and Louis Nance.
