Edward Anthony “Tony” Reeves
Edward Anthony “Tony” Reeves, 72, of Orange, Texas, passed away on June 6, 2019, at his home in Orange.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Orange, Texas, on January 30, 1947, he was the son of Floyd Reeves, Sr. and Ruby Lea Slaydon Reeves. Tony proudly served his country in the United States Army where he was a Sargent E-5. He was part of the 3rd Battalion 13th Artillery with 25th infantry division. Tony was a decorated Vietnam veteran receiving 3 bronze stars-2 with valor device. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Astros. Tony loved to joke around and spend time with his family. He loved them dearly and will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Ruby Reeves.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 30 years, Joy Reeves; children, Lori Rene Mixson and husband Craig, of Buna, Lance Reeves, of Beaumont, and Lauren Paige Reeves, of Orange; grandchildren, Alexandra Mixson and Catherine Mixson; siblings, Floyd V. Reeves, Jr. and wife Janice, of Little Cypress, Dorothy Windham and husband Bill, of Little Cypress, Debby Cordova and husband Mike, of Orange, Ovie Reeves and wife Kristen, of Leander, and Cheryl Renfrow and husband Lester, of Vinton, LA; along with many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Allen Ayres and the Compassion Hospice staff for all of their care and support during this difficult time.
