Edward Britton Demler

Edward Britton Demler, 85, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on January 9, 2025, at his home in Bridge City.

Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on March 8, 1939, he was the son of Edward Sonny Demler and Eleese Hilton Demler. Edward worked as a devoted car salesman at JK Chevrolet, where he built lasting relationships with customers and colleagues alike. As a proud veteran, Edward served his country honorably in the United States Army, embodying the qualities of service and commitment that defined his character throughout his life. Outside of work and service, Edward had a profound passion for the great outdoors. He was an avid trophy buck hunter and fisherman, spending countless hours pursuing his love for nature. With a reputation as an excellent marksman, he not only excelled in hunting but also took great pride in his collection of guns and knives, treasures that reflected his lifelong interests. But above all, Edward was a family man. His grandchildren lovingly referred to him as "Papa," a title that spoke volumes about the warmth and affection he cultivated within his family. His unwavering love and support will be sorely missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Eleese Demler; and his grandchildren, Britton, Ryan, Ariel, and Hunter.

He is survived by his daughters, Pamala Kech and husband, David, Sheila Malcolm and husband, Kevin, and Tara Burkhalter; his grandchildren, Trisha, Sha Tristen, Thomas, Stephen, Hayden, Nathan, Bryce, Sarah, and Eli; his great-grandchildren, Beaux and Brock, Bryleigh, Presley, Lacey, Chloe, Marley, Cinah, Caboose, Kaylee and Hallee, Bayllie, Brynllie, Brytllie, Baby Britton, Kyler, Talan, Rylan, and Rory; his brother, Rockne Demler; and numerous other loving nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.

Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

I am so sorry to hear about Eddie passing. I loved talking to him about two times a year. We would talk for an hour or two. He had wonderful ....and funny....stories to tell. He and my brother..,Donald...were great friends. The both graduated in 1957 and went in the military together. I know he will be missed by many.
