?Eddie? as he was known to all his friends in Orange or ?Snooks? as he was known to all of his friends from Vinton, was born in Vinton, Louisiana on January 25, 1914. He lived many of the early years of his life in Orangefield, where his father owned and operated a restaurant and hotel for the oil field workers. While he started school in Orangefield, he graduated from Vinton High School
in 1934. He married the love of his live, Sophia Schultz of Orange, in 1936, and spent his career working as a lineman for Gulf States Utilities during the war years and as a purchasing agent for Sabine Supply and American Bridge in the years following the war. He retired from Craft Oil Company as the office manager in 1979, after twenty years of service.
Eddie was active in the community as well as with his family. He was a Charter Member of the Orange Lions Club, worked in the Nursery in Sunday School at the First Baptist Church, was very active and served as Past President in the Orange Volunteer Fire Department, served as a Boy Scout leader, taught Red Cross First Aid and coached Little League Baseball.
He enjoyed fishing, rodeo, tinkering around the house and woodworking. He was the type that would rather be ?working in the shop? than watching television. Eddie was a friend to all and loved to volunteer to help his friends or his community.
Mr. Frenzel was preceded in death by his father, E.C. Frenzel and his mother, Pearl,
his sister, Ruby Kimball, and his wife of 66 years, Sophie Frenzel.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Dolan and Audrey Frenzel and David and Hildy Frenzel, all of Orange; grandchildren, Donna and Luis Chaparro of Hollywood, California, Edward and Kimberly Frenzel of Orange, Dave Frenzel of Houston and Adam Frenzel of Orange.
