Edyth Ruth Ramsey, 92, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on March 26, 2019, in Beaumont, Texas.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Mark Bunch of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Bridge City.
Visitation will be from held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 29, 2019, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Born in Meridian, Louisiana, on April 11, 1926, she was the daughter of Milton Dunn Sheppard and Ada Mae (Huggins) Sheppard. Edyth worked as a cashier at Farm Royal. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Bridge City. Edyth volunteered at the church and she especially enjoyed helping cook for Thanksgiving. She found joy in listening to old country music, sewing, crocheting, working outside in the garden, solving crossword puzzles, playing computer games and Scrabble, and watching the Dallas Cowboys. Edyth loved getting together with her family and laughing. She was a kind-hearted and easy going woman. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Ada Sheppard; her brother, Marco Sheppard; and her sisters, Sybil Arnaud and Pat Broussard.
She is survived by her children, Sondra Carriere and partner Clif Tippit of Port Arthur, Beth Krohn and husband Mike of Port Neches, Clinton Stapleton and wife Melinda of Jasper, and Kathy Clark of Bridge City; her brother, Larry Sheppard and wife Pat of Port Neches; her 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
