Effie Trahan, 84, of Orange, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Orange.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2008, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be the Reverend Joseph P. Daleo of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 1 at the funeral home with rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m.
Effie was born November 8, 1923, in Orange to Willis and Elizabeth Pittman Goodman. Effie was a former member of the Orange Crack Unit, Orange Lions Club and The Cajun Dance Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson A. Trahan; son, Willis Foreman; stepsons, Larry Trahan and Bobby Wayne Trahan, and eight brothers and sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory are son, Dennis Foreman of Orange, daughters, Delores Arnett of Orange, Carolyn Hetzel of Port Arthur and Lisa Arvizo of Mauriceville.
Also surviving Effie are stepchildren, John Harold Trahan, Dennis Trahan, David Trahan, Earl Trahan, Rhonda Trahan, Joyce Holloway; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren and brother, Dempsey Goodman of San Antonio.
Serving as pallbearers will be David Foreman, Daniel Briggs, Dennis K. Foreman, David Willis, William Harris and Andy Weiver.
