Elbertha Elizabeth Jodarski Eaves, 81, of Beaumont passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2007 in the Charles S. Kelley Memorial Chapel at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home with Reverend Robert Smith of Pinewood Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Haven of Rest Cemetery in Beaumont.
Her family will receive guests at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning prior to the service.
Mrs. Eaves was born June 10, 1926, in Richmond, Texas to Frank John and Magdaline Wisnesky Jodarski. She attended Richmond High School where she graduated May 28, 1943 and worked as a long distance telephone operator for SBC in Dallas. She married Huey L. Eaves, a WWII veteran, in Beaumont on December 17, 1949 and then began working as an accounting clerk for Gulf States Utilities.
Reared and faithful in the Catholic faith until her marriage to her husband, she became a longtime member of the Baptist church, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Beaumont. She worked in the Children?s Sunday School and Bible School classes at church. A devoted wife and mother to her children, she was a homemaker, soprano soloist, and pianist who loved to sing, and to read Gods word.
Preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Huey L. Eaves , she is survived by her children and their spouses, Bonny and George Castilaw of Vidor, Mary and Gerald Copeland of Sour Lake, Carolyn and Jon Tom Day also of Sour Lake, Kenneth and Cathleen Eaves of Kingwood and Thomas and Wendy Eaves of Beaumont; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Rhydonia Cowart of Kingwood, Florene Gibson of Alvin, Madeline Muegge and sister-in-law, Cecilia Jodarski both of Rosenburg.
