Eleanor Barbara Fisher, 88, of Mauriceville, Texas, passed peacefully in her sleep and went home to be with her Lord on December 2, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 7, 2017, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Doug Shows, of First Baptist Church in Bridge City.
Born in Lafayette, Indiana, on January 25, 1929, Eleanor was the daughter of Emil Wurster and Katherine (Kreig) Wurster. She graduated from St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing in Lafayette in 1950 and went on to work as a director of nurses for Beaumont Home Health until retiring in 1985. Eleanor will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Katherine Wurster; sister, Irene Knowles; brothers, Ernie and John Wurster; and her loving husband, Roland Fisher.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine Cloud and husband Ronny; grandchildren, Shannon Blankenship and husband Jaime, Valerie Coleman and husband Brent, Lindsay Yawn and husband Josh, Amanda Helms, and Ashley Helms; step-children, CynD Fisher and husband Ben Shaw, Marcy Fisher, and Arthur Fisher and wife Vicki; great-grandchildren, Brayden and Jase Blankenship and Crew and Landry Coleman; niece, Barbara Knowles; and her nephews, John Knowles and wife Connie, Russell Knowles and wife Gail, and Joe Knowles.
