Ella Mae "Trahan" Mason, 80, of Bridge City, died Friday, January 1, 2010, at Southeast Texas Medical Center.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 4, 2010, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Bridge City. Officiating will be Mr. Robby Holland of First Assembly of God Bridge City. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens in Nederland.
Visitation will be from 5:00-9:00 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home.
Ella Mae was born on November 10, 1929, in Vermillion Parish, Louisiana. She was the daughter of Wilton and Elida Viator Trahan.
In her lifetime, Ella Mae was a very loving and compassionate wife, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Although she enjoyed spending most of her time with her daughters and family, she would always make time for cooking up batches of her famous family recipe for "cajun hotsauce", that was always in demand by all who tasted it.
Ella Mae is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Mason; brother, L.J. Trahan; sister, Elsie LeBlanc; step-sons, Mark Mason, Sr., and Michael Mason.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Jo Ella and Chuck Floyd, of Bridge City, Rosalind and Tom Owen, of Forth Worth, Sylvia and Mark Kirby, of Bridge City, Kellie and Darren Meaux, of Fresno, Texas; grandchildren, Chuck Floyd, Jr., and wife Mona, Melissa Brisbane, and husband Marlin, Geoff Leon, and wife Jenny, Jenefer Rompf, and husband Jason, Maegan Kirby, Mandi Kelley, and husband Garrett, Lauren Hobbs, and husband Joshua, Tara Meaux; and nine great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chuck Floyd, Jr., Geoff Leon, Garrett Kelley, Joshua Hobbs, Jason Rompf, Timmy LeBlanc, and Toby Armstrong.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Chuck Floyd, Sr., Tom Owen, Mark Kirby, and Darren Meaux.
