Ella Mae Wood, 97, of Orange, died Thursday, February 17, 2011, in Orange.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 21, 2011, at Cove Baptist Church in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend T.J. Bordelon of Cove Baptist Church and Reverend Jeff Bell of Calvary Baptist Church in Port Acres. A Graveside Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Wood Cemetery in San Augustine.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in San Augustine County, Texas on September 21, 1913, Ella was the daughter of William Sam and Rosa Kindred Roberts. She was an active member of Cove Baptist Church for 63 years, and was a 50 year member of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde E. Wood; son, Billy C. Wood; daughter, Betty DeVille; brother, Sid Roberts; son-in-law, Billy Hall; and great-grandson, Tony Brindza.
Ella is survived by her daughters, Shirley Hall, Charlotte Burch and husband, Terrell, all of Orange, Kathryn Pool and husband, Rusty of Vidor; daughter-in-law, Jackie Wood Grayson of Bridge City; grandchildren, Britt Wood, Tracie Wood, Teri Wallace, Will Burch, Angie Guyote, Skippy DeVille, Theron Pool, and Troy Pool; great-grandchildren, Holly Brindza, Jackson Calhoun, Britton Edgerly, Taylor Wallace, Haley Guyote, Gracie Guyote, and Ashli Bellett; brother, Gerald Roberts and wife, Amy of Kenner, LA; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Britt Wood, Skippy DeVille, Will Burch, Theron Pool, Troy Pool, and Jackson Calhoun.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Orange Villa and Southeast Texas Hospice for the love and care shown to Ella.
