Ellen “Gail” Smith Wright Badeaux, 56, of Orange, Texas, passed away on June 6, 2016, in Beaumont, Texas, surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 9, 2016, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Lynn Ashcraft. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Orange, Texas, on February 13, 1960, she was the daughter of Billy and Johnnie Smith. Gail enjoyed volunteering and especially loved cooking. She most recently attended St. Mary Catholic Church in Orange and was a former member of North Orange Baptist Church. She worked for West Orange Cove CISD for 21 years. She loved spending time with her family and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her parents; husband, John Badeaux; her daughter, Rachel (Wright) Roy and husband Garrett, of Port Neches, Texas; sister, Debbie Stephenson, of Orange; brother, Russell Smith and wife Lana, of Orange; her extended sister, Kathy McCord and husband Tim, also of Orange; and her grandchildren, Brooklyn Roy and soon to be Brady Roy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association at P.O. Box 11454 Alexandria, VA 22312 or to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer at 111 Presidential Blvd. Suite 203, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.

Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Smith, Lance Fitts, Dustin Tilley, Coleman Jackson, Tim McCord, Jason Roy, and Marty Wright.
