Elmer Ray Hoffpauir, 92, of Orange, Texas, passed away on November 25, 2025.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, Texas. Officiating will be Reverend Wyatt Wier, Pastor of Orangefield United Pentecostal Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Orange.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Orange, Texas, on June 25, 1933, he was the son of William Riley Hoffpauir and Clara Emily (Humble) Hoffpauir. Elmer served his country honorably in the Army as a military police officer during the Korean War, a commitment that shaped his character and instilled in him a sense of duty and compassion for others. His service to his nation was just one aspect of his remarkable life. A proud member of the Orangefield United Pentecostal Church, Elmer found solace and strength in his faith, cultivating deep connections within his church community. His love for others was evident in every visit, conversation, and shared laugh. He had a unique ability to light up a room and make everyone feel seen and appreciated, reminding us all of the importance of community and fellowship.

Elmer was a man of many passions. He enjoyed thrift shopping, delighting in the thrill of finding treasures amongst the overlooked. His adventurous spirit led him to travel far and wide, exploring new places and creating memories that he eagerly shared with family and friends. Elmer was a true social butterfly who had an infectious spirit and a boundless love for connection. His warmth and kindness radiated through the lives he touched, leaving behind an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Clara Hoffpauir; his wife, Janice Hoffpauir; and his siblings, Mae Elizabeth Spell, Joyce Hoffpauir, Royce Hoffpauir, and Walter Hoffpauir.

Those left to cherish Elmer’s memory include his children, Brenda Louise Hoffpauir Williams and spouse Jackie, James “Jimmy” Dean Hoffpauir and spouse Jerlyn, Jason Bruce Hoffpauir and spouse Julietta, Michael David Hoffpauir and spouse Mary, and John Eric Hoffpauir and spouse Kristen; grandchildren, Christopher Glynn Williams, Aaron Benjamin Williams, Brent Ray Williams, Ethan Jackie Williams, Jessica Alise Williams, Britney Elaine Judalet, Kristen Louise Emerson, Caleb James Hoffpauir, Alex Michael Hoffpauir, and Mia Reese Hoffpauir; great-grandchildren, Liam Christopher Williams, Clara Jane Williams, Benjamin Jude Williams, Adeline Elizabeth Williams, Logan Dean Judalet, Chloe Jane Judalet, Brielle Nixie Carter, Colt Riley Emerson, and one on the way; along with numerous other loving family and friends.
