Eloise Duhon Stewart, our Mother and Best Friend, 83 years old of Orangefield went home to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Thursday, March 24, 2011.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2011, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend H.P. Hebert of Triangle Baptist Church in Sulphur, LA, and Dr. Jimmy Brossette of First Baptist Church in DuPont, LA. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.
The family will receive friends on Sunday beginning at 2:00 p.m. until the service time at 3:00 p.m.
Eloise was born on October 14, 1927 to the parents of Adolph and Ella Duhon. She was a native and lifelong resident of Orangefield. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Orangefield, Texas. Eloise was a homemaker, mother and best friend to her children and family. She loved gardening and crafts, but her main love was spending time with her family and most of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years and 6 months, Tyrus Stewart; and her three siblings Carl Duhon, Myrtle Benoit, Pete Duhon.
Eloise is survived by her brother-in-law, C.J. Benoit of Orangefield; sister-in-law, Geraldine Sims of Beaumont; daughters, Barbara Blackwell and husband, Bill of the McLewis Community, Peggy Granger and husband, Tommy of Orangefield; and son, Ronnie Stewart of League City. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Laura and Chris Allen, Tara and Jason Lanphar, Curt and Lauren Edgerton, Clint Blackwell, Tyson Stewart, Cody and Shelly Edgerton, Brittney and Brandon Gauntt, J.R Granger, Coby Granger, Tommy Granger, Shane Granger, Sage Granger, Slade Granger; and great-grandchildren, Sean Edgerton, Jake Placette, Jaislynn Lanphar, and Kate Edgerton.
