Elsie “Charlene” Cooper, 71, of Orange, Texas, passed away on November 7, 2019, in Port Arthur, Texas.
Born in Orange, Texas, on February 15, 1948, she was the daughter of Robert James McDonald and Elsie (Wells) McDonald. Charlene worked as an operator for DuPont for 22 years and was always very focused and dedicated to her job. She was a wonderful cook, and enjoyed preparing gourmet food and catering. Charlene was also a master gardener, and took pride in her yard and her home. Above all else, she was the caretaker of her family. Charlene will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Elsie McDonald.
She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Danny Cooper; her children, John Rothrock, Marlon Rothrock and wife Lisa, and Stacy Dykes and husband Blane; as well as her 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Private services were held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Damon Bickham for officiating the service.
