Emery Robert ?Bob? Vargo
Memorial services for Emery Robert ?Bob? Vargo, 81, of Bridge City will be held Saturday, July 28, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Chapel in Beaumont.
Bob was born October 30, 1925 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Emery F. and Elsa Hoffer Vargo and passed away July 21, 2007 at Christus Hospital-St. Elizabeth in Beaumont. He had resided in Bridge City for 45 years.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II serving with the 9th CB Battalion in the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign, Tinian Campaign and Okinawa Campaign. He graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in chemical engineering and worked in the pulp and paper industry. He was a ?Life Member? of the VFW and a member of St. Peter?s Catholic Church in Groves.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Vargo of Bridge City; two sons, Robert Vargo of Denver, Colorado and Royce Morton of Webster, Texas; daughter Susan Morton of Payson, Arizona; brother Ronnie Vargo of Albany, Georgia; twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Gnerich and son Billy Morton.
