Emery was born in Morse, Louisiana to parents Desire Trahan and Nola (Benoit) Trahan. Emery was a true Christian and took joy in sharing about his immeasurable faith in Christ. Emery grew up in Louisiana but followed his brother and sister to Texas as a young man. He was a resident of Beaumont for many years where he started his family. He was kind, compassionate and was known for his constant selflessness and true love for God and his family. Emery was a member of Amelia Baptist Church and he loved having prayer and fellowship with his church family. He enjoyed working in his garden and on numerous occasions just sitting on his back porch watching the squirrels run around the yard. Emery worked as a Medical Equipment Technician for many years, which he enjoyed because he was able to visit with many patients, bringing them his big smile and kind gestures. He was always ready to escape to the lake or beach to make memories with his family and friends. Emery loved fixing his house and was very helpful in guiding others to fix whatever was needed. He was an excellent cook and on many weekends you could find him cooking barbecue for contest cook offs with his buddies. He was still authentic to his cajun roots and loved cooking many cajun delicacies. Emery loved to sit and visit with his brother and sister-in-laws, listening and offering his advice which his nieces and nephews will always remember. Emery will be greatly missed but his memory will be eternal.
Those left to cherish his memory will be the apple of his eye, daughter, Brittney (Trahan) Ahern of California; his best friend, Patti Mansfield of Beaumont, Texas; brother-in-laws, Johnny Daws, Randy Daws and Jay Daws; sister-in-laws, Pam Maxfield, Jan Warren, Sharon Unruh, and Vergine Trahan. As well as his granddaughter, Joelle Fonenot, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
