Emily D. Jones, born November 18, 1918, died May 11, 2009.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Saturday, May 16, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Starks, Louisiana.
A graveside service will be 3:00 pm, also Saturday, at Blue Branch Cemetery in Pitkin, Louisiana.
Visitation will be from 5-9 pm, Friday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
She was born to David W. and Emily C. Durrett, the eleventh of fourteen children including triplets and twins.
Emily was married at seventeen to Phillip LaCaze. They were the parents of six children including identical twin sons. Phillip died in 1960, leaving four minor children. Several years later, she married George W. Jones gaining several wonderful step-children. She was also preceded in death by twin sons, Daniel, in 1973, David, in 1982, also George W. Jones, eleven of her siblings. She is survived by four children, Sarita Barker and Sonny LaCaze of Houston, Chris LaCaze of Columbia Falls, Montana, Emily Ruth LaCaze of Indiana / Florida; twelve grandchildren; twenty-four greats; one great-great; and sisters, Velma Ducote and Maggie Frost.
Also four step-sons, one step-daughter, thirty-six plus step-grandchildren; thirty plus step greats; and many step greats-greats.
Emily went to work for J Weingarten after Phillips death where she worked for 19 years and retired.
