Emma Ann Longlois, 82, of Orange, Texas passed away on August 8, 2024, peacefully at home.

A private graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 19, 2024, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Kevin Brown.

Born in Clarksville, Texas, on July 19, 1942, she was the daughter of William Howard Williams and Vivian Lucille (Stegall) Williams. She was married to the late J.D. Longlois for 53 years. Their relationship inspired those around them as a testament to enduring love.

Known affectionately as "Mrs. Emma" to all who knew her, she will be remembered for the warmth and kindness she carried with her every day. Emma had a passion for teaching; sharing her knowledge and wisdom with generations of students. She was a beloved teacher at West Orange Cove ISD for over 31 years.

Beyond her profession, Emma's life was filled with simple joys and cherished moments. She could often be found sitting on her porch sipping iced tea while visiting with neighbors always listening for the signature sound of “her” boat to signal the arrival of the boys coming back from fishing. Her homemade chocolate and coconut pie was a delight for all lucky enough to taste it. In her leisure time, Emma found solace in her hobbies of tending to her garden, reading and watching the hummingbirds that visited her feeders.

Emma's love for Jesus shone brightly in her actions and words. She spent many Sunday mornings playing the piano, taught Vacation Bible School, and was always ready to share her faith and encourage those around her. Emma's memory will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her, as she leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and love that will continue to inspire and uplift those whose lives she touched.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Vivian Williams; and husband, J.D. Longlois.

She is survived by her sons, William Keith Longlois and wife Cynthia, and Jeffery Dwayne Longlois and wife Patricia; grandchildren, William and Jessica (Longlois) Hammer, Luke and Julianne (Longlois) Hanson, Chrisleigh Longlois, Jacob Longlois; great-grandson, Micah Hanson. Adopted grandchildren are Megan Peveto, Edmon Willette, Christa Young, Kenneth Pickett, and other loving family and friends.

“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not.”
