Born on September 6, 1983, in Orange, Texas, Eric lived a life filled with joy, enthusiasm, and an undeniable sweetness that touched everyone he met. Eric was known for his boundless energy; he ran everywhere he went, his excitable spirit evident in every stride. He had a deep love for sports, especially football and WWE, and found immense joy in video games, often spending hours watching his brother play for him. His passions extended to the simple pleasures of life: he adored horses, found comfort and delight swinging in his swing, and was a natural in the water, swimming with a fearless abandon. Eric was incredibly loving and sweet, possessing a charm that, as his family fondly recalls, meant he "loved the ladies." More than anything, Eric touched everyone's hearts with his pure spirit and gentle nature, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Eric is lovingly remembered by his parents, Robbie and Cindy Smith, and his devoted brother, Jerett Hebert. He also leaves behind his stepbrother, Robbie Smith III, and his wife, Brittany; his cherished nieces, Sophia Hebert, Ellie Smith, and Gwen Smith; close family friend and his loving “second mom”, Audrey Dankins; his great uncle and aunt, Dickie and Elsie Romero; his aunts and uncles, Kristi and Keith Giblin, and Kirk and Julie Smith, Ted Hebert, Todd Hebert, Ben Hebert; and numerous loving cousins who will miss his presence dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Hebert Jr.; his beloved grandparents, Mildred and Jessie Doyle, Charlie Reed, Patricia and Dale Buxton, and Gerald Sr. and Anna May Hebert; and his aunts, Sue Henry, Mary Evans, and Anita Johnson; and his best buddy, Eddie Dankins.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Rusty Barfield, Christopher Barfield, Mickey Landry, Billy Klecka, Fred "Ikey" Hubert, and Ron Mueller.
Eric's warm spirit, infectious enthusiasm, and loving heart will be profoundly missed, but the beautiful memories he created will forever be cherished by his family and friends. He truly was a blessing, and his light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who loved him.
