Ernest Joseph Bonura

Ernest Joseph Bonura, 82 of Beaumont was born January 4, 1926 in Port Arthur, Texas to Mario and Antoinette Bonura and passed away June 14, 2008 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. A resident of Beaumont for 50 years, he was a former resident of Port Arthur and a member of Assumption Catholic Church. Mr. Bonura and his brother, Paul, operated a gas station for many years. Later he worked as an attendant for several gas stations in the area.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Irene Bonura and his brother, Paul Bonura.
Left to cherish his memory are his four daughters and son-in-law, Annette Bonura, Shirley Bonura, Carol Bonura and Janet Sanford and her husband, Ken, all of Beaumont.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, June 19, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church on Avenue A with interment to follow in Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home with a Rosary recited at 6:30 p.m.
