Esther Mae Bergeron
Esther Mae Bergeron, 63, of Orange, Texas, passed away on January 4, 2020, at Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 10, 2020, at Cove Baptist Church in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Jeff Bell and Pastor Charles Empey. Burial will follow at Linscomb Cemetery in Orange.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2020, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Orange, Texas, on July 20, 1956, she was the daughter of Roy Randolph Curl and Anna Louise (Wolf) Curl. Esther worked as a home health caregiver for many years. She was a longtime member of Cove Baptist Church. Esther loved spending time in the kitchen, especially at church, and she served as the “Kitchen Hostess” for many years. She was a crafty woman who enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cross-stitching, and reading. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Anna Curl; her great-niece, Felicity Starr Hagan; her brothers-in-law, Mike Hagan, Sr., Robert “Butch” Bourgeois, and Jimmy Wayne Bergeron; sister-in-law, Sandra Jane Bergeron; and her parents-in-law, Joe and Ada Bergeron.
She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Johnny Bergeron; her sister, Ida Curl Hagan; her sisters-in-law, JoAnn Hardin and husband Billy and Charlet Bourgeois; her nieces and nephews, Maria Jetton and husband Bubba, Anna Bergeron, Jenny Dixon, Caddie Ashelman and husband Bob, Michael Hagan, Jr. and wife Naomi, Roy Hagan and wife Donna, Bill Hardin, Jr., and Sabrina Adam and husband Stuart; her great nieces and nephews, Brittany Hagan Domas, Serenity Hagan, Christy Kelley, Chelsea Risinger-Trump and husband John, Courtney Gibson and husband Jacob, Kera Wiler and husband David, Kylie Babineaux, Reagan Dixon, Garrett Dixon, Michael Hagan III and wife Randi, Roy Hagan II, Carl Jetton, Kyle Adam, Madison Adam, Caroline Gonzales and husband Albert; and her great-great nieces and nephews, Felicity Savanna Hagan, Breeana Kelley, Carah Risinger-Trump, Mackenzie Wiler, Madison Wiler, David Wiler, Archie Gibson, Cameron Hagan, Dorian Smith, Anthony Kelley, and Sef Gonzales.
Serving as pallbearers will be Roy Randolph Hagan II, Mike Hagan III, John Robert Risinger-Trump, Daniel Bergeron, Frank Moore, and Steve Suitt. Honorary pallbearers are Cameron Hagan, “Bubba” Clyde Linscomb, and Ray Linscomb.
