Ethel Frances Pierson Gardner
Funeral services for Ethel Frances Pierson Gardner, 76, of Lumberton will be held Friday, July 6, 2007 in the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Chapel at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Woodville, Texas at 3:00 p.m. Friday. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 4-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Gardner was born August 24, 1930 to Roy A. Pierson, Sr. and Lector Ethel Coplen Pierson in Canton, Texas and went to be with her Lord on July 2, 2007 in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
After graduating from Kirby High School, she began her career as an operator with SWB Telephone Company ATT in Woodville, Texas. Her career led her to Huntsville, Fort Worth, Beaumont and finally Nederland where she retired after 38 years of service. She married Clifton Darnell Gardner on June 19th, 1949. A member of Fletcher Church Alive in Lumberton, her hobbies were her family and ?grandkids,? sewing and tending to her many plants.
She is survived by two daughters, Elaine Pierson of Warren and Linda D. Jones of West Lake, LA; three sisters, Gracie Williams of Alvin, Phyllis Hancock of Vidor and Margaret Rawls of Colmesneil; three brothers, William Bud Pierson of Woodville, James Pierson of Dallas, and Walter Bubba Pierson of Fred; five ?grandkids? and numerous ?great-grandkids.?
Faithful and devoted to her Lord, her motto was ?JOY-Jesus first; Others second; and Yourself third. She was a child of the King.
