Evelyn Laughlin

Evelyn Laughlin, 90, of Orange, died Friday, January 4, 2008, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2008, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Jeff Bell, pastor of Cove Baptist Church in Orange.
Burial will follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in the McLewis Community.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Born May 22, 1917, in Rayne, Louisiana, Mrs. Laughlin has been a resident of Orange since 1942.
Preceded in death by her husband, John Laughlin; parents; three brothers and two sisters, she is survived by her daughters, Barbara Ashworth and Frances Stokey, both of Orange; grandchildren, Joanna Hardy, Joseph Stokey, Glenn Ashworth, Charlotte Ashworth, and Edward Ashworth.
Also surviving are her great grandchildren, Camryn Sharp, Taylor Stokey, Andre Ashworth, Anthony Ashworth, Grayson Hardy; sister, Mitchie Green of Lake Charles, Louisiana and brother, Floyd Milligan of Lufkin.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joseph Stokey, Glenn Ashworth, Edward Ashworth, Taylor Stokey, Prentice Ashworth, Charlotte Sharpe, Todd Breaux, and John Milligan.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Breaux, Kenneth Lamb, Jerry Laughlin and Larry Laughlin.
The family wishes to express their appreciation for the care and compassion to the following people during Evelyn?s long illness: All the nurses on 4 SE oncology wing, six number one angels, Margaret Lewis, Ruth Adams, Gene Breaux, Joanna Hardy, Joseph Stokey, and Edward Ashworth, and to Dr. Schachner and his entire staff, thank you all so much.
