Evelyn Sylvester Pellerin was born on December 19th, 1923 in Port Arthur to Albert Anthony and Francis Sylvester. She grew up with one brother as a Port Arthur native and graduated in 1942 from Thomas Jefferson High School. Evelyn married Roland Pellerin while he was serving in the armed forces and traveled some with him before returning home. They later had one daughter that died at birth and then a son Paul Roland Pellerin.

Evelyn spent most of her life tending to her family as a wife and homemaker. She did work outside of the home, but decided after the birth of her son she would remain at home to raise her child. Evelyn was a faithful Catholic and attended St. Henry Catholic Church almost daily for many, many years. She was known as a tender and loving friend to all and would go out of her way to try to help in any way. She enjoyed volunteering in all types of organizations from church organizations to the girl scouts. She gave of her time and served her community in many different manners.

Evelyn loved all animals especially dogs and cats. She was such a caring person, she would leave food out so that stray animals would have something to eat. Overall, Evelyn led a quaint and peaceful life serving her God, family and friends. She will be truly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
