Evelyn Virginia Walston, 92, of Beaumont, passed away on September 27, 2018, at Silsbee Oaks Health Care.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm, Monday, October 1, 2018, at Sabine Tabernacle in Beaumont. Officiating will be Reverend James Boykin and Reverend Clarence Day of Sabine Tabernacle in Beaumont. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Beaumont.
Visitation will be from 5:00pm-7:00p.m., Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont.
Born in Smackover, Arkansas, on September 11, 1926, she was the daughter of Venoy Ford, Sr. and Stella (Wheeler) Ford. She retired as a phone operator with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for over 40 years. Evelyn was a member of the AT&T Pioneers Club. She loved the USA and Israel. She really enjoyed traveling and singing. Evelyn was a devoted member of Sabine Tabernacle and loved her family and church family dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Venoy Ford, Sr. and Stella Ford; husband, Lonnie Walston; daughter, Sharon Young; brother, Venoy Ford, Jr.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Prince and husband, Wade of Lumberton, Joyce Towne and husband, Bobby of Beaumont, Carolyn Haskett and husband, Chris of Beaumont; son-in-law, Robert Young of Beaumont; grandchildren, Rebecca Prince, Jeremy Towne and wife, LeAnn, Julie Towne, Amber Neal and husband, Christopher, Meagan Haskett, and Alan Young and wife, Shelby; five great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Knowles of Chandler, Arizona; nephews, Gary Ruggles of St. Paul, Minnesota and Carl Knowles, Jr. Chandler, Arizona; and niece, Deborah Tucker of Chandler, Arizona.
Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Young, Wade Prince, Bobby Towne, Chris Haskett, Alan Young, and Jeremy Towne.
