Fern Stanfield

Fern Stanfield, age 57 of Orange, Texas died, December 11, 2007.
Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at North Orange Baptist Church. Officiated by former pastor the Reverend Lynn Ashcraft, assisted by the Reverend Scott McIntosh of North Orange Baptist and the Reverend Forest Wood of First Baptist Church of Orangefield.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 pm. at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, Wednesday, December 12, 2007.
Fern was born on April 17, 1950 to Lonnie and Ruth Stanfield in Orange, Texas. She was a graduate of Little Cypress High School and also attended Eat Texas Baptist College in Marshall. She has been employed by Orange Villa Oaks and Pinehurst Jones Nursing Homes for over thirty years. She loved working with the elderly, where the staff, the residents and their families became her second family.
She always loved a good laugh and enjoyed making others laugh. She also loved southern gospel music especially The Gaither Homecoming Concerts and their tapes and c.d.?s.
She was an avid L.C.M. fan. Fern is a long time member of North Orange Baptist Church. She loved her church where she taught the three year old Sunday school class over thirty years.
Preceding her death were her parents, Lonnie and Ruth Stanfield, brother Langston Stanfield, brother-in-law Virgil Hammerly, Sr., great nephew Micah Hammerly, grandparents and uncles and aunts.
Those left to cherish her memory are brother, Thomas Stanfield of Orange, sister Elaine Hammerly of Mauriceville, Texas, sister-in-law Betty Stanfield of Little Cypress and aunts, Faye Stanfield, Joyce Stanfield and Lucelle Orum, 12 nieces and nephews, 27 great nieces and great nephews and 7 great-great nieces and nephews and several cousins.
Pallbearers will be nephews Alton Stanfield, Carl Hammerly, Virgil Hammerly, Jr., Rodney Hammerly, Blake Bradley, Robert Morgan, Kevin Wittschen, and Robin Ellis.
Honorary pallbearers are Travis Vincent , Byard Hunter, Raymond Gilbeaux and Raymond Shadle.
