I fondly remember Ferrel. We played Brenda Starr reporter and solved all sorts of crimes. One day I lost my shoe. We looked all over for my shoe. I called home. My Aunt Rose was visiting. She walked over to Ferrel's, about 8 ;blocks. Then we walked to David Crockett. My aunt had the janitor let us look through the trash for my shoe. I had my bike, but I walked it with Auntie Rose. We were retracing our path from school to Ferrel's. Auntie Rose said, "Look." There was my shoe up on a fence post. I guess it fell out of my bike basket. We sure had fun back in those days.

Ferrel was a precious gift to her family & friends. She was my friend & mentor. She taught me so much & I loved her heart of giving, sharing, loving God, & cooking & decorating. I am overwhelmed thinking of her happiness with Jesus & Sandy....until we meet again, my sweet friend.
