Fleta was born November 8, 1927, in Huntington, Texas to James Young and Zelta Mae (Harrison) Foster and went to be with her Lord on April 15, 2018, in Beaumont. A resident of Beaumont for the past 10 years, she was a former resident of West Orange and Bridge City. She worked as a secretary at 9th and Elm Church of Christ and at the McNamara Insurance Agency in Orange.
Our mother was a soft spoken and direct, loving woman. As the beloved matriarch of our family, she was a Godly woman and led a Godly life. She read her bible every morning and taught her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren what unconditional love is.
We all loved going to Grandma’s house and eating her traditional black eyed peas and cabbage on New Year’s Day. She loved cooking for her family. She was a strong woman in many ways. She taught us how to live one day at a time and make the best of every situation. She talked about her loved ones that have gone before her and was eager to see them again in Heaven.
We loved her greatly and we will miss her for a long time. But when we do, we can stop and imagine her once again united with those she loved who went before her and we have peace that passes all understanding.
She is survived by her daughters, Regina Hileman of Beaumont, Kathy Haby and husband, David, of Beaumont; son, Stephen Wyatt and wife, Miranda, of Vidor; grandchildren, Selena Smith, Sarah Moreland and husband, Murray, Nick Haby and wife, Shanna, Noelle Haby, Matthew Wyatt, Cody Wyatt; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth and Gary Foster.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Felix Wyatt; son, Philip Wyatt; brothers, Joe, Glenn and Tommy Foster; and sister, Doris Young.
The family wishes to thank Dr. John Henderson, Dr. Iumy Torres, and the wonderful oncology nurses at Christus St. Elizabeth for their compassionate and loving care and guidance.
