Florence Genevieve Fenner

Florence Genevieve Fenner was born April 3, 1921 in Neame LA. She moved to Beaumont at 8 years of age with her parents Arthur A. and Florence Cowart Knight. She entered the 3rd grade with the move and eventually graduated from Beaumont High School in 1938. She departed this world May 5, 2009 at her home in Beaumont Texas. She was 88 years old.
Genevieve had been a member of Cathedral in The Pines for 55 years. She had been employed by Jefferson County for 20 years in the Juvenile Probation Department.
Genevieve, known as; Mom, Me Maw, and Aunt Gee Gee was preceded in death by husbands Pete Ault and Sam Fenner. Additionally, 3 of her 5 children; Brenda Ault Methvin Brougher, Becky Ault Gargus, and Doug Ault all preceded her as well.
Survivors include her sons, Daniel Ault of Glen Allen, VA, and David Ault of Mobile, AL; her brother, Raymond Knight of Beaumont; stepchildren, Tommy, Bobby, and Don Fenner, and Sheryl Van Cleve.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Joshua Ault of Houston, Cidney Ault of Detroit, MI , Todd Methvin of Beaumont, Tracey Methvin Shuck of Grapevine, and Tanya Methvin of Dallas; great grand children, Cody, Cade, and Keelie Shuck of Grapevine Texas, Justin, Kaitlyn and Mason Methvin of Beaumont Texas and Jayden Ault of Detroit, MI.
Those that knew Genevieve knew she was generous, fun loving, strong willed, loving, and a devout Christian. She loved her family very much and enjoyed being a part of their growth and maturity. After a fall in November of 2007 when she broke her hip, her health and mobility suffered. She fought hard to maintain her independence knowing full well the alternative meant some form of dependency. She lived her last breath as she wanted, at home.

Visitation will be Sunday May 10 from 4 to 6pm. at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home at 1155 N.11th Street in Beaumont.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, May 11 at 11:00 a.m., with the Reverend Lee Wagliardo officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Ault, Larry Custer, Tommy Fenner, Bobby Fenner, Derrill Methvin, Rex Reavis and Brian Shuck
