Florence Hans Martinez went to be with the Lord Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Orange Villa Nursing Home in Orange, Texas.

Florence was born in Galveston, Texas to Lena and Henry Hans on July 21, 1925. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Martinez, Sr. and daughter, Loraine Achord. Florence is survived by her son, James A. Martinez, Jr. and daughter-in–law, Mary Elaine Kyzar Martinez. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Lois Cloud and Lucille Martinez.

A graveside service will be held, Tuesday the 22nd of April at 1 p.m. at Green Oaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband of 60 years.

In my mind, I can see Mama being welcomed in Heaven by family members who made it there before her.

In the last 12 years, she was well taken care of by the nurses and staff at Orange Villa Nursing Home and Hospice, whom were so kind and helpful. We wish to express our grateful gratitude to everyone at Orange Villa; they did a wonderful job.
