Floyd “Pete” Gipson, 67 of Orange, Texas Passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side on December 20, 2019 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Ritchie and Imogene Gipson, his brother, James Ritchie Gipson, niece, Angelina Michelle Gipson, and his first wife, Sherry Gipson.
He is survived by his daughters, Julie Mashaney and husband Paul of Orange and Cindi Gipson also of Orange; their mother, Judy Brown; grandchildren, Caleb Gipson, Josh Gipson, Gabe Gipson, Sam Mashaney, Jonah Mashaney, and Norah Mashaney all of Orange; sister, Gail Hickey, Debbie Schweitzer, and Becky Singer; brother Johnny Gipson; and sister-in-law, Kayline Gipson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pete was born on August 8, 1952 in Harlingen, Texas. He graduated from West Orange High School in 1972. Pete served in the United States Navy, and was a lover of discovery, having traveled the ends of the earth from Antarctica to Iraq. He loved a good cup of coffee in the morning and fine dining in the evening. All of his many adventures gave him rich tales to tell to anyone in earshot.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas and Focused Care in Orange, Texas and his friend Arlene Ott.
A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Turning Point Church of Vidor’s Fishers of Men Ministry.
