Forrest James "Jim" Foster

Forrest “Jim” Foster 86, of Beaumont, passed away early Saturday , December 27, 2014, at home. Forrest “Jim” Foster was born April 25, 1928 in Temple Texas, to Forrest F. Foster and Alma Farr Foster. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his step son, Jackie Wayne Byrd.
He married his wife Martha Scarborough Foster on August 2, 1968 in Beaumont, Texas. Jim and Martha had many wonderful adventures, including moving to Alaska where he worked on the Alaska Pipeline as a supervisor of Alyeska Pipeline pump station. They enjoyed many years in the beautiful state of Alaska. He retired from Alyeska Pipeline and moved back to Texas in 1994.
Jim is survived by his wife of 48 years Martha Scarborough Foster, step daughter Brenda Landrum and husband Ronny, step daughter in law Judy Byrd, step son Greg Byrd and wife Mary, and 4 daughters, Judy, Jackie, Nancy and Roberta from the Dallas area. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren (Ryan Landrum, Kasey Sanders, Linzy Ritchie, Jennifer Dalby, Julie Wylie, Jordan Byrd, Mandy Do and Meagan Stanley), and 17 great grandchildren (McKenna, Bailey and Cooper Sanders; Kate and Brady Landrum; Jonas, Eleanor, and Finley Ritchie; Madison, Sarah, Hannah and Major Dalby; Brylea, Boss, Champ, and Legend Byrd; and Mason Stanley).
The family wishes to thank all his caregivers for their tender loving care: Bobbie, Carolyn, Jackie, and Naomie. We were truly blessed to have such wonderful caregivers brought into our lives.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on December 30, 2014, at Claybar Kelley - Watkins Funeral Home, 1155 North 11th Street, Beaumont, Texas 77702. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
