Frances Faye Smith-Waller

Frances Faye Smith-Waller, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2026, in Vidor, Texas, at the age of 92. She was born on November 10, 1933, in Lufkin, Texas, to Luther and Margarite Sharp.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Frances lived in Orange, Texas, for most of her life and was a devoted member of Triangle Baptist Church in Orangefield. Throughout her career, she worked as a cashier at several local establishments, including Bendy's Grocery, Lynn's Sack-N-Pak, Jiffy Meat, Orangefield County Store, Romano's Bakery, and Kressage Breakfast Bar. Frances loved her family deeply and cherished every moment spent with them.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Blum (Sonny) Smith, Jr.; her second husband, Jack Waller; her parents, Luther and Margarite Sharp; her brothers, Preston Sharp, Phillip Sharp, L.J. Sharp, and Howard Sharp; her sisters, Margarite LeLeaux and Erma Jean Lester; her son, Blum Smith III; and her granddaughter, Nichole Smith.

Frances is survived by her loving sisters, Wanda Trumble and Peggy Sharp; her sons, Kenneth Smith and wife Patricia, Rickey Smith, Russell Smith, and David Smith and wife Sandra; her daughter, Phyllis Neil and husband Thomas. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Nicky Lambert, A.J. Lambert, Stacy Lambert, Sonny Smith and wife Renee, Ricky Smith and wife Lacy, Jeanise LaPointe and husband Cory, Rodney Brown and wife Christne, Heather Luis and husband Pablo, Russie Faye Smith, Robert Smith and wife Kimberly, Russell Smith Jr. and wife Cassidy, Thomas Neil Jr. and wife LaTisha, Sean Neil and wife Alisha, Jacquline LaBeth Smith Mitchell and husband Troy, Wesley Smith and wife Aubrey, Stephen Smith, and Ethan Smith and wife Britany; JR Girlinghouse and Gliniss; Timothy Girlinghouse and spouse, Cynthia Bergeron and husband Elmer. Frances also leaves behind thirty-six great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, and numerous other loving family members and friends.

Frances will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will forever be a blessing.

Serving as pallbearers will be Thomas Neil, Jr., Sean Neil, Ethan Smith, Kayden Smith, Wesley Smith, and Russell Smith, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Sonny Smith, Rickey Lynn Smith, and Easton Neil.
