Francis “Bill” Dexter Bergeron, Sr.
Francis “Bill” Dexter Bergeron, Sr., 82, of Orange, passed away on April 13, 2017.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 18th, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Deacon Hector Maldonado of St. Francis Catholic Church in Orange. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will be Monday, April 17th, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Orange, Texas, on October 10, 1934, he was the son of Dexter Paul Bergeron and Eve Virginia Morvant. Bill was a Boiler Maker in local 587 for many years and honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He liked to fabricate and weld belt buckles, bracelets, barbecue pits, and much more. He also enjoyed gardening. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus (4th Degree), American Legion, the VFW in Orange, and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vinton, Louisiana. Bill will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Lucille Bergeron.
He is survived by his children, Francis “Billy” Dexter Bergeron, Jr. of Port Arthur, Patricia A. Davis and her husband Clyde of Port Arthur, Robert P. Bergeron and his wife Tammy of Nederland, John A. Bergeron and his wife Kelley of Port Arthur, Theresa L. Martin and husband Stephen of Orange, and Eric T. Bergeron and his wife Bonnie of West Lake, Louisiana; his 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; he is also survived by his sister, Louise McGrew of Lubbock.
Serving as pallbearers will be Francis D. Bergeron, Jr., Francis D. Bergeron, III, Jude Bergeron, Spencer Martin, Jonathan Bergeron, and Michael Bergeron.
