Gary was a kind and gentle man and brought out the best in my daughter, Karen,. I remember him getting caught drinking and driving in Louisiana. The jailers realized too late that he was Hayward Hudson's son Hayward Hudson was a police officer in Texas and when he received the phone call about Gary he instructed the jailers to feed him bread and water. This incident happened on a Friday night and Gary remained in jail until Sunday night. I enjoyed his texts and will miss him,

One of our first and lasting memories was right after we started going to the camp where Gary and Karen were. Early one foggy morning, I looked outside and was sure that I saw two deer down by New Guy's and K2's camper! Upon further observance, I realized it was two of his K9's out for their morning walk with Gary. Gary and Karen were a whole. You would be hard pressed to find someone more loyal, honest, loving, faithful, trustworthy, or kind. Our lives are richer for having Gary in our hearts forever. Gary's voice may now be quieted, but the joy that his singing brought to so many will live on endlessly. With a tear in my eye and a lump in my throat, I can hear you Pickin' in Heaven, "right left of Floyd". Much Love, Cotton and Pauline
