Genevieve Cooley Carlock, 95, of Orange, Texas, passed away on February 18, 2023, at her home.

Born in Leesville, Louisiana, on December 25, 1927, she was the daughter of Henry Allen Cooley and Victoria Jane Coleman. Genevieve volunteered at Baptist Orange Hospital for 35 years before dedicating her life to her family and her home. During her free time, she enjoyed cooking and taking care of her plants. Genevieve’s loved ones will go on to cherish the memories they have with her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Therman Carlock.

She is survived by her children, Danita Zylks of Orangefield, Texas and Shiela Freemon of Orange; her four granddaughters; her 7 great-grandchildren, including, Haley Martin, Skyler Martin, William Martin, Dustin Martin, and Christopher Martin; her two great-great grandchildren; and numerous family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be James Martin, Christopher Martin, Dustin Martin, Corey Moe, Judge Fields, and Jonathan Wallace. Honorary pallbearers are Skyler Martin and Haley Martin.

Private services will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
