Genevieve Mazzola Jeanis

Genevieve Mazzola Jeanis, 78, of Orange, died Thursday, January 5, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 9, 2012, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Joseph P. Daleo of St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Sunday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m., with Deacon Melvin Payne officiating.

Born in Orange, Texas on July 27, 1933, Genevieve was the daughter of Anna Lucia and Ben Mazzola, Sr. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, Alter Society, and LaDonna Society.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Annie Blanda, Antoinette Herman, and Bessie Claybar; and brothers, Mike Mazzola, Benny Mazzola, Joseph Mazzola, Sr., Louis Mazzola, and Johnny Mazzola.

Genevieve is survived by her husband of 58 years, Curtis F. Jeanis, Sr.; sons, Louis Paul Jeanis II and wife Carolyn of Orange, Joseph Ben Jeanis and wife Yvonne of Orange, Curtis F. Jeanis, Jr. and wife Carri of Beaumont, and David Allen Jeanis and wife Janie of Orange; and grandchildren, Gregory, Lucas, Justin, Benjamin, Brittany, Blake, and Sean Jeanis.

She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Francis Bethard, Dorothy Gipson, Pauline Albright, and Rosalee Guzzardi.

Serving as Pallbearers will be her sons and grandchildren.
