Born in Diboll, Texas, on January 2, 1939, he was the son of Leo Chesshire Trigg and Nettie Lena (Anderson) Sisney. George graduated from Stark Highschool in 1957, before entering the Navy September 1958. After 20 years of service, George retired as a Torpedoman Mate First Class (E6) in December 1977. After the Navy, George moved back to Orange and worked at Huber for 15 years as a maintenance mechanic. He finished his work career as a security guard at Allied Signal. George had a knack for fixing things and could solve almost any problem that came his way. George had a variety of interests that made him a well-rounded individual. He enjoyed woodworking, collecting coins, and had a particular fondness for classic cars. George was also proud of being a member of five different coin clubs in his area, demonstrating his passion for coin collecting. When it came to leisure, George loved to hunt and fish, and he was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Longhorns. Music also held a special place in his heart, with the Rolling Stones being among his favorites. One of the highlights of George's life was his cherished role as a grandfather. He played Santa for local families and was affectionately called “Grandpoo” by his grandchildren. His love for them was evident and brought him much joy. Additionally, he was a distinguished member of the 32nd Degree Mason in Orange, Texas. He will be remembered fondly by those who knew him and for the love he shared with his family and friends.

He was a friendly father figure to me. A good man who loved his time in the US Navy. His sea stories and kind ways was one of the number of reasons I joined the US Navy. Thank you Sir. May you always find fair winds and following seas. We have the watch. Slowly Hand Salute.
