George "G.C." Wilson, 77, of Orange, went home to Jesus, Monday, August 24, 2009, in his home.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2009, at Community Church with Reverend David Berkheimer officiating.
Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
George was born in Winthrop, Arkansas on March 16, 1932. He was the son of George Washington Wilson and Fannie Florene Green Wilson. George was a Maintenance Supervisor for Gulf/Chevron. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He loved coon hunting, fishing and rodeos. George was an avid woodworker and his last major project was co-founder of the Lutcher-Stark High School Memorial.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and son-in-law, Charles Pattillo.
Survivors include his wife, Johnelle Wilson; son, Rocky Wilson of Orange; son and daughter-in-law, Kenney and Tammy Wilson of Little Cypress; daughter, Donna Wilson Pattillo of Bridge City; seven grandchildren, Lexie Peveto, Michelle Pattillo, Lori Williams, Carrie Wilson, Amber Peveto-Cain, Nikki Peveto and Whitney Pattillo; eight great-grandchildren; brother and sister, Virgil Wilson and Georgia Wyatt; half brother and sister, Edna Mae Hansen and Raymond Wilson.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Maac Hughes, Johnny Ray Norwood, Steven Norwood, Rocky Wilson, Kenney Wilson and Donna Pattillo. Honorary Pallbearers will be all his nieces and nephews.
