Gerald Lee Bland, 58, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on November 4, 2017, in Beaumont, Texas.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at Harris Cemetery in Orange, Texas. Officiating will be Lannie Wheat.

Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 12:00 p.m., at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.

Born in Orange, Texas, on November 11, 1958, he was the son of Sherman Joseph Bland and Dorothy Lee Foreman Bland. Gerald had a heart of gold and will never be forgotten. His will to live taught us to never give up until the very end. He fought the demons but in the end God won. To a wonderful father, brother, and uncle- We love you.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Dorothy Bland; sisters, Beverly Gary, and Kathy Duckworth; brother, Steven Bland; and his niece, Kara Willingham.

Gerald is survived by his children, Tiffany Martin and Brian Martin; 8 grandchildren; siblings, Irene Bland, Dorothy Bland, Glenn Bland and wife Kathleen, Michael Bland and wife Jamie, Melissa Bland, and Ronnie Bland and wife Andrea; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Luke Bland, Brian Martin, Ronnie Bland, Michael Bland, Kyle Bland, and Josh Bland.

The family would like to extend a thank you to Harbor Hospice from the bottom of their hearts for loving and taking care of Gerald.
