Gerald Frank Rach

Gerald Frank Rach, 61, of Orange, Texas, passed away on March 2, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. 

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 8, 2025, at St. Helen Catholic Church in Orangefield. Officiating will be Father Michael Strother and Deacon Tim Istre. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange. 

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 7, 2025, at St. Helen Catholic Church in Orangefield, with a rosary to begin at 7:00 p.m.

Born in Orange, Texas, on September 22, 1963, he was the son of Frank Rach III and Beth Rach. He was a loving husband, father, Papa, son, and brother. Gerald was a well-respected maintenance worker at Orangefield Independent School District, where he cherished his job and made many friends. Known fondly as "Pop" or "Papa," Gerald had a unique ability to connect with those around him. He was a wonderful friend to all, sharing countless stories and jokes that brought laughter to many. He embraced life fully, relishing music and spending time with his family. His passions included hunting, fishing, and camping, and he had a keen interest in history. Gerald was a proud member of St. Helen Catholic Church, remaining active in his community. Everyone who knew Gerald got 100% of him. He loved with all that he was. Gerald will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His loving spirit and joyful personality will always be remembered. 

He is preceded in death by his children, Cassie Rach, Nathan Rach, and Zachary Rach; mother, Beth Rach; in-laws, Sidney and JoAnn Kibodeaux; and grandparents. 

He is survived by the love of his life of 30 years, Dona Rach; father, Frank Rach III and wife Barbara; sons, Jared Kyle Hutchison and wife Sarai, and Lane Daniel Rach; grandsons, Colton and Levi Hutchison; siblings, Susie LeBlanc, Sally Rach and Andy Hathaway, Mitzi Conway and husband Tony; godchildren, Ryan Gunstream, Catie Swanson, and Brian Ousley; numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends. 

Serving as pallbearers will be Jared Hutchison, Lane Rach, Craig Cormier, Kevin LeBlanc, Justin Riley, and Jacob Vogt. Honorary pallbearers are Colton Hutchison and Levi Hutchison.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to your favorite charity in Gerald’s name.
